ORK MEK ARMY (pt.3)

Oh my dear Gork 'n Mork it's been a while since the last update.

All of the September went into bashing together the beginnings of an Ork Mek army. More bits added to the Killa Kans.

Did nice bases for them as well, used 50mm wooden circles from a DIY shop. Hot glued a few interesting bits on each. Then some PVA glue diluted with a drop of water, and dipped into a box of "mixed basing mess". That includes all the small cutoffs from the table, fallen off sand, static grass, sawdust, small rocks etc.. Once cured, another thin layer of diluted PVA was painted on top to seal everything properly.

This was propably the fastest basing method I've done in a while, the results being very pleasant with the quite realistic scrapyard effect. Oh, I drilled holes into the bases and the Kans legs to add a supporting piece of metal wire for extra strength. Both hot glue and super glue (with sprinkling of baking soda) were used. They're not gonna fall apart. Dropped them off the table a few times, so it's true and tested.

Not sure about the basing of all the forthcoming kustom buggies and karts and wagons and other vehicles though. Would like to have the proper base sizes for all, but the current GW pricings are not that tempting, and oval equivalents seem a little hard to find. So the Buggies are now waiting for a revelation in this sector.

Mob of 10 Grots assembled and converted from the Warhammer 40k 2nd edition Gretchin.

I primed all the finished models with Army Painters matt black spray. The Kans also got a nice coppery basecoat of some cheapest spray available from general store, followed with the most expensive golden spray I've ever come across. Ferget their brand names, sorry. Both very nice though, and together they made the Kans look awesome already.

Also sorted out bits for a Gorkanaut! I was thinking about taking a Trukk (or similiar), lifting it upwards and replacing wheels with legs and weapons/arms. But then this amazing helicopter toy appeared from the bits box. I tore it apart, threw in parts from other cheap toys, some Tau vehicle I got from friend and a found broken led light.

Next up is painting of the Killa Kans.
