So what happened to the Orks? Built & painted some more. Will upload pics at some point. Having issues with back pains again, so no long sittings possible at the moment.
Between long walks and relaxing by reading Horus Heresy books, the truths and secrets of Alpha Legion were slowly but surely planted in my mind. So I dug up all the old Space Marine bits, boxes, sprues and scratch materials and set to work. Managed to convert and assemble units of 5 Chosen and 10 Cultists while standing mostly. Not optimal working position but hey, for the Emperor.
I'm still considering the paint scheme. Might try something very monotonous like illuminated, ghostly teal. Just a few details picked up with red, not much more. Dark grey rubble bases. Maybe. How about trying the magical "wet pallette" also for the first time?
